Project Overview
Platform: iOS
Timeline: 3+ months
My Role: Product Designer
FoodNote is an in-development iOS app that helps users capture their dining experiences and rediscover what they’ve enjoyed in the past.
The idea started from a simple observation — people often forget where they’ve eaten, what they ordered, or whether they liked it. Existing food apps were built around social media or professional reviews, not personal memories. This opened up an opportunity to design a product centered on personal food discovery — one that’s useful, meaningful, and delightful to use.
Design Process

The process began with exploration. Through research, I uncovered that people weren’t looking for another social platform, but a simple way to record meaningful, personal moments around food.
From there, I mapped out key user archetypes, ranking their needs, and defined the core value propositions of the app. I translated the insights into clear product requirements and user flows that formed the foundation of the MVP. The goal wasn’t to build everything, but to deliver a clear, thoughtful experience that could grow over time.
Design Solution
After defining the branding and design system of the app, I crafted each screen with the Jobs-to-be-Done framework in mind. I iteratively refined the interface through testing and feedback cycles, paying close attention to clarity, hierarchy, and usability to ensure users could easily capture, explore, and revisit their dining experiences.
